4. Carpet Cleaning Expectations
We use professional equipment and industry-approved cleaning methods to achieve the best possible results.
However, cleaning cannot:
Restore worn carpet fibers
Repair damaged carpet
Replace missing color
Remove every stain
Reverse normal wear
The following may remain after cleaning:
Permanent stains
Pet stains
Pet odors
Bleach spots
Dye stains
Paint
Ink
Rust
Traffic lanes
Burns
Wear patterns
Color loss
Cleaning results vary based on carpet age, fiber type, condition, maintenance history, previous cleanings, and stain type.
5. Wicking
Some stains may temporarily disappear during cleaning and later reappear during the drying process.
This is known as wicking and occurs when contaminants trapped beneath the carpet surface rise back into the carpet fibers.
Wicking is not considered a cleaning failure and may require additional treatment.
6. Upholstery Cleaning
Cleaning results vary depending upon:
Fabric type
Manufacturer recommendations
Age
Sun exposure
Body oils
Wear
Previous cleaning attempts
Giant Carpet Care cannot guarantee removal of all stains or odors from upholstery.
We are not responsible for:
Dye bleeding
Color fading
Fabric shrinkage
Fabric distortion
Weakened fibers
Manufacturer defects
Pre-existing wear or deterioration
7. Tile & Grout Cleaning
Professional tile and grout cleaning removes embedded soil and improves appearance but cannot repair damaged surfaces.
Some grout discoloration may be permanent due to:
Mineral deposits
Hard water
Etching
Permanent staining
Mold staining
Previous sealers
Damaged grout
Cleaning does not repair cracked grout, loose grout, or loose tile.
8. Pressure Washing & Exterior Cleaning
Pressure washing removes dirt, algae, mildew, and other contaminants but cannot repair damaged surfaces.
Cleaning may reveal existing defects that were previously hidden by dirt, oxidation, or surface contamination.
Giant Carpet Care is not responsible for damage resulting from:
Loose or peeling paint
Oxidized surfaces
Weathered wood
Deteriorated caulk
Existing cracks
Loose mortar
Loose siding
Improper installation
Existing water intrusion
Aging or deteriorated building materials
Soft washing and pressure washing cannot restore deteriorated materials.
9. Rust, Oxidation & Permanent Discoloration
Certain stains and discoloration cannot be removed through cleaning, including but not limited to:
Rust
Bleach
Permanent dyes
Certain medications
Paint
Ink
Chemical discoloration
Oxidation
UV fading
No guarantee is made regarding the removal of permanent discoloration.
10. Pet Urine & Odor
Pet urine frequently penetrates beyond the carpet into:
Carpet backing
Carpet padding
Tack strip
Subfloor
Baseboards
Surface cleaning alone cannot guarantee complete odor removal when contamination exists beneath the carpet.
Additional restorative treatments or replacement of affected materials may be necessary.
11. Drying Times
Estimated drying times:
Carpet: 6–12 hours
Upholstery: 4–8 hours
Tile & Grout: Ready for light foot traffic shortly after cleaning
Drying times vary depending on humidity, airflow, temperature, and material type.
Customers should exercise caution when walking from damp carpet onto hard flooring, as surfaces may be slippery.
12. Pre-Existing Conditions
Cleaning often removes soil that has concealed existing damage.
Giant Carpet Care is not responsible for pre-existing:
Wear
Tears
Loose seams
Delamination
Buckling
Color loss
Fading
Cracked grout
Loose tile
Weakened upholstery fibers
Manufacturing defects
